| This fanfare was made especially for the Disneyland Fanfare Trumpeters in 1989. It is bimetrical, the melody being in 2/4 time with accompanying flourishes in a 6/8 feel. Georges Bizet used the same 17th century traditional Provençal tune in his incidental music to Daudet's play, L'Arlesienne. There are amplified versions for brass quintet (#1085) and brass tentet (#1041). | |||||||

| I Saw Three Ships is the last and most challenging of the arrangements Ray made for the Disneyland Fanfare Trumpeters. This traditional English melody is treated three ways, from a slow and tender opening, to a rollicking 6/8 feel, and culminating in breathtaking bell tones and rapid scales ripping through the trumpet's upper range. This arrangement quickly became the group's signature number. There are also versions for brass quintet (#1083), brass septet (#1099) and brass tentet (#1046). | |||||||
