Easter Fanfare on "Llanfair" was composed as a prelude to the familiar Easter hymn "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" (also known as "Jesus Christ is Risen Today" in some hymnals). It is dedicated to Dr. Thomas Somerville, Professor Emeritus of Music at Occidental College and retired Minister of Music at First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, where it was premiered on Easter Day in 1995. The original version is for trumpet quartet (#1014). Also available for trombone quartet (#1114) and tuba quartet (#1096).

The Second Star was composed in 1990 for the Humboldt State University Brass Chamber Music Workshop. It is dedicated to artist and trumpeter Jim Tidwell, who designed and drew the baroque trumpeter logo for Premiere Press. The optional tuba may be omitted to perform as a quartet. A trumpet quartet in its original form (#1017), it is also available for trombone quartet or quintet (#1066) and tuba quartet or quintet (#1115).
