Bass trombone is the solo instrument in this work which was composed to honor Vic Steelhammer, a Los Angeles bass trombonist and friend of the composer who died in 2006 in a solo plane crash. Ranges from simple and subdued to involved and impassioned. 3 trumpets in Bb, horn in F, 2 trombones, solo bass trombone (opening cadenza provided), euphonium, and tuba. Also available for brass tentet (#1108).
